Why a Chicago Hot Dog is in Bama Country??

Kuk's Dog Days in Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Wow!! What a restaurant place I went into today! Long before the Daley family took over the political reins of Chicago, Illinois and even before the infamous Al Capone had a mobed-backed strangehold on all aspects of city commerce, another Chicago great was born. Believe it or not, it was the Chicago-style Hot-Dog!

Today I went to a restaurant called Kuk’s Dog Days nicknamed “A little taste of Chicago” in Tuscaloosa, Al around lunch time. As I go in the store I’m already impressed by the smell of the food as it’ s cooking along with the personnel that treated me with respect. I was so hungry I really didn’t care about the flavor or how the style was. But I really didn’t know I was in for a treat so good that I had to post it up.  I’ve never in my adult life have tasted a hot dog that was do delicious that I had to get a second one just to make sure I wasn’t dreaming of its unique taste. Wow and yummy!! Can’t put it in more words.

Now I did talk to the owner of this fine restaurant, I believe his name was Mr. Kukla and he was telling me there was some history behind this trend we call simply a tasty hot dog.  As he was telling me, this Chicago Hot-Dog tradition dates back as much as 1890 when it was created by street vendors and it’s been enjoyed by Chicagoans in all variety of locations, including front rooms, gangways, alleys, and even on the stoop! For the Kukla family, those hot summer birthdays and Ivy-covered outfield walls are easily brought to the forefront of mind with the taste of a traditional all-beef hot dog.

Oh my God, I ordered the large hot-dog and the sausage with the red curly-life fries and a lemon drink all for a low price of under $5.00. And they also have more selections such as Italian beef, meatball sandwiches with mozzarella cheese on a freshed baked bread as well as extras like grilled onions, green peppers, kraut, cheese and chili!! As an extra adage and honor to their family tradition, they can even host your party to entertain you and your guests.

Now what’s amazing over this whole thing I’m posting  is that ITS JUST A DAM HOT DOG!!! BUT NOW CHICAGO IS REALLY TRYING TO TAKE OVER IN THE PUREST AND SIMPLEST FORM—IN OUR BELLIES!!! THAT’S DEEP, BUT THAT’S TRUE!!  WOW!!

Now Mr. Kukla and crew serve Chicago’s best to a city that is proud to be home to the greatest football team, The Alabama Crisom Tide!

They did, indeed, brought a little taste of Chicago to Alabama!  Roll Tide!!! as well as Go Cubs Go!!

I recommend you go to Kuk’s Dog Days and you’ll coming out suprised and shocked like me. I don’t know–maybe its in the relish, or something!!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!!

No failure to communicate!!

A printed circuit board inside a mobile phone
Image via Wikipedia

Ok now for today’s concerns, I believe the form of communication has changed the face of the Earth forever. Now we can go as simply as to our cellular phones to make every possible agenda take place. We can order items online thru it, text messages, email, pictures, songs, etc. etc. I say to myself wow and I didn’t think that the world would change like that for the better.

When I was growing up you can say, back in the 1970′s we didn’t even think about a form” of communication. In fact, we didn’t think of anything in particular as I’ve been raised in a culture-like setting that was all-in-all about sharing things and to know as a group. You see, back then when something was ours such as a book or a pencil, we had to share and share alike amongst our family peers. That’s how poor we were then. I mean, we couldn’t afford to have anything on our own as well as keeping it to ourselves. I mean the strictness of that discipline within our mom and dad really wanted you just someday have something you can actually call your own in a sense. Our so call ways of communication can be affiliated with such things as yelling for my brother to come home or tell my friend to go get my sister to ea dinner.

When it hit the 1980′s, however, wow!! now we’re talking about a device called a telephone in our house not that mom or dad even cared anyway!! Then it followed by a thing called a walkie-talkie, followed by another contraption called a beeper (remember those??) I mean where I came from, if you had one of those, then I mean you were the man of the hour, or you had a lot of money on you. And truth be told, you had a beeper meant you possibly had connections with buying or selling drugs. But then look how quick that faded away from the big shoe-looking cellular phone.

I mean you can actually carry your house phone with you right now. Wow. And keep in mind I’m just focusing on the individual’s way of communication whereas back then we couldn’t fathom on having such privacy.

It’s now a new millenium and now it’s very imperative that you carry a cell phone with you. It’s like now in this day in age if you don’t have one then you’re out of a loop! If without these devices, one would think if you were either dead or alive in the world. I mean GPS!! I thank God for one thing:  just for me to be alive enough  to witness the advent of modern communication that in no means is going to fail us anytime soon.

Or do they use this modern convenience simply for necessary communication?

For many, the cell phone seems to have become an extended phenomenon.  They’re texting or talking on it almost continually (except when disallowed at school), checking e-mail and downloading from the Internet.  However, there still are some who share a phone with the family and have it with them only when necessary.

I mean children as young as 9 years old are trying these out calling their friends to just see if mom wants them to meet each other the next day!!! Give me a break!! Scary but there’s still hope!!

Technology rules all over as much as it rules our lives!!! That you have to agree with me on.

Oh and believe me, we’ll be keeping in touch with this communication process!!

Why Gift Baskets you say??

Curtis's gift Baskets by LaBella

There can be legitimate reasons that certain niceness or sentimental part of your life can be so uplifting. And I truly believe that no matter what the object is, the thought is just as rewarding for that special person.

Gift baskets are great as they show you have put some thought into the gift, by picking out items you know your family such as your mom,dad or any family or friend will love. Giving present such as gift baskets had to really start from the beginning of time or even the caveman days. You show love, appreciation, support, care, thank you, grievance and most importantly some faith that’s inside of you that will appreciate upon that person by letting them know you’re on their mind just as much as that person had thought of in the first place.

Now for those of you who thinks that the gift basket phenomenon is not becoming popular as we speak. Think again! Every minute somewhere around the world someone is either ordering a certain gift basket by catalogue or the thing that’s called the internet now in which I’m currently in. It IS a thing and soon it will become a trend to have one. No more different from giving a Thanksgiving present or a Christmas gift, the basic great thing about the gift basket is that is has NO special date!!! It can be done anytime 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week!!

And for the guys, you know how it is??? We just simply dont like to shop around!! So why not do it online at home anyway!!

Instead of running around the shops looking for potential Mother’s Day  or Easter  presents, simply pick a gift from our range and we take care of the rest for you! Our gift baskets are beautifully presented & decorated with cellophane & ribbons. You can pick from delicious food hampers containing wine & cheese, tea & biscuits, chocolate & cakes or all of the above!

And that’s just some of what our gift baskets provide for you!! stick around!!! there’s more to show and present for presents!!

I will periodically post more info about the beauty and association of what gift baskets really means to people!!

What is being safe really being safe?

Ok i got a question here? I mean when things are going your way as intended to be, then theres complacency to follow. But as soon as complacency arrives, then the downfall occurs. I realize that everyone sometime in their lives had experience that sort of experience. We as human beings are realizing that in this day in age, if two couples are going to relate to one another, then why is it that something- not necessarily a person-something has to be in the way for that house to be broken. hence, divorce, break-up and dissolution from that far fetch house called a relationship that u two had before.

I love women. Lord knows I do, but you can’t help but for one moment ponder that when its the one you want to be with so bad its also a  target of many eyes to see her which makes you a bit nervous as well as becoming furious. I mean the beauty of a woman that most guys like would love to get with will kinda put you in a challenging circumstance. What to do about it ? Act upon it or just wait and see what happens on the outcome. But I can surely tell you to hang on your woman real tight like a charmin!!

On that note, trying to understand what a very unique if not the meaning of a special relationship really has to depend on the individual’s needs and concerns upon themselves.

Well just a thought for the concerned and curious ones. You never know about when that moment comes or arrives. Just be prepared when it does.

God bless the child!!!

I Believe in…..

Well today was very interesting and worth telling. I truly believe that if you try real hard to avoid thinking your troubles and worries then there must be a way out of that particular storm call reality and mold it into something that is truly believable. Tht’s called immense reality.  I mean i’m learning everyday that the world will never change  regardless of the circumstances that brings upon you. I promote gift baskets and want to help the community with the caring and acknowledging their beliefs of there is hope on the horizon. But, as we all know it, if you do truly believe then things will and truly will come to you in a way that is considered instantly and gratifying. Just hoping that this will go out to the people that none of us can exist in isolation. Our lives and existence are supported by others in seen and unseen ways, be it by parents, mentors or society at large. To be aware of these connections, to feel appreciation for them, and to strive to give something back to society in a spirit of gratitude is the proper way for human beings to live.

Thanks and may god bless the child.

sad day

Hello everyone well i guess this is one of those days that i wouldnt call a good day. I mean that what would you do if you had all this negativity all around you and theres not a chance of light any time soon but you believe that there is still light on top of the cloud of misery. However the challenge is just too much for one man to take sometimes. I believe that God puts thru these journeys and lessons for enriching the minds and capabilities of your spirit and soul to integrate integrity upon the will.

Curtis’s Gift Baskets by LaBella

Just recently, I started my own gift basket business.

I know its a girl or mom thing..but just thought of it!! LOL

I’m enclosing my website so that you could see the baskets and flowers that I carry. I’m so excited about my new business because I actually help people save money on their gifting needs and I receive an opportunity work at home and own my own business.

As my blog friends, I’m asking for your help. Can you take a look at my website and see how we can help you with your gifting needs.

Would you please do two things for me.

1.) Just take a moment to consider the holidays, birthdays, anniversaries or other special occasions when you could use my gifts . Then, just send me the approximate dates. I’ll put them in my birthday alarm and send you a reminder a few weeks before just so you can look through my online catalog to see if something fits the occasion. As my friend, you know there is no obligation to buy anything—I just want to remind you to look.

2.) Refer me to someone else. It would mean a lot to me if you would refer me to a few of your other friends in case they need what I market. Since they are referred by you, I’ll make sure they are 100% satisfied! Please copy me on the email so I can follow up later with them directly since I know you’re very busy.

You know I wouldn’t be asking you but I’m so excited about my business and I’m excited to get if off the ground very quickly! Please take just one minute to respond to my email with your potential gift giving occasions and send also send this on to a few friends.

Thanks very much. Y

Your friend,

Curtis
